As at 1/1/2005
San Diego County's largest cities were:
1) (As you are aware) San Diego with a population of 1,305,736

2) Chula Vista with a population of 208,510

3) Oceanside with a population of 175,085

4) Escondido with a population of 140,088

It is very close according to the 2000 census. In 2000 Chula Vista had a population of 173,556 and Oceanside's population was 173,303. I don't know if this informaton is still valid - but at least in 2000 Chula Vista was the second largest city in San Diego County and I will chose Chula Vista as my answer. I am curious if you have more recent data.

With all the cities around SD, That would be a tough one. The Nicest city is LaJolla, Dirtiest City is Lemon Grove, I'll take a guess and say Escondido?
