Of course there is always take out the memory and get rid of the rest because everything you had in the memory can be read.

yes most definitely you are right to be concerned.
Any data not WIPED off a hard drive can be retrieved by anyone with the correct software tools.
Simply formatting the drive and even re-installing the operating system doesn't actually wipe the files on it, only the indexes to those files.
To get rid of everything you'll need a wiper/shredder software tool.

If that main frame will no longer be in your posession
get some thing like window washer, and do a total erase of the hard drive
Or back up what you wish to keep and erase the rest
