i hit a white pole with my car and now i have a scratch on my hood how can i remove it?

If all your got is a white paint transfer you can purchase a light rubbing compound and try that, but if you lost some paint then you'll need a touch up kit as well.
Last time I had a light scratch I went to a body shop - told the guys I'd like to try and fix it myself and if he thought that was something I could do. The guy actually gave me a small amount of rubbing compound and watched me do it in his parking lot giving me how-to advice for ten minutes. It looked great and I know that if I need porfessonal body work in the future he's going to get the call.
