If the mold is blck and fuzzy you will need haz.mat. gear to be rid of it. If it is green or brown, replace the drywall.
Molds can kill.Go to the doc. and get tested for spores in your lungs.
If thats what you've got, they give you pills to clear it.
For now though, i would spray it with bleach to kill any spores that would become airborn.Do this now, dont muck about. your health may depend on it.

You are probably allergic to mold. To kill mold us a 10 parts water to 1 part chlorine bleach solution and wash the wall with it. In order for mold to grow it needs a moist environment. Is your wall opposite a bathroom? There may be plumbing behind the wall that is leaking. This needs to be fixed before the whole house rots. Also that kind of mold can be deadly, with or without allergies.

We do too. If there is no water leakage it might be high humidity. We have to keep a dehumidifier running during the winter. If it is behind a piece of furniture, move it further from the wall to let air circulate behind it and putting a night lite there also might help. We have a very large dresser that has to have a night-lite 24hrs and small fan run during the day. Clean with the bleach mixture mentioned above first. Mold hates light, fresh air and low humidity. Also try BIN spray can white shellac. Spray that on the wall paint with a mold inhibitor additive. Make sure you read the safety guidelines and lots of ventilation. Good Luck!

The mold is very unhealthy for you and also the reason you can't breathe. You need to get someone in the house to tear the wall down and figure out how much mold damage you have. They can tell you where all it is and fix it for you.

Well, of course it's unhealthy!
To get rid of it, first find the source of the moisture. Is there a leak from a window or eave outside letting rain in? Is your A/C pan overflowing and keeping it moist? Once you fix the cause of moisture, THEN remove the moldy poartion and repair the sheetrock. I'd go about a foot or two outside where visible mold is, to be sure you get it all. But don't bother until you find and fix the source of the moisture leak.

Mould is growing because water is leaking from somewhere, sometimes, keeping the wall damp.First find out the leak then get the wall scraped and freshly painted. Also keep the windows open for some part of the day to allow fresh air to breath life into the room.
