VIBGYOR is the order for the increasing wavelength

So,Wavelength for yellow is greater than that for the green.

The higher the energy, the shorter the wavelength & vice versa.
The higher the frequency, the higher the energy & vice versa.

If you can remember the mnemonic technique
ROY G BIV for red-orange-yellow-green-blue-indigo-violet and can remember that ultraviolet is after violet and x-rays are after ultraviolet and have high energy, then the wavelength will be inversely proportional to the energy.

In other words, within the colors of the spectrum, the closer it is to violet, the shorter the wavelength(higher energy).

Related to this:
wavelength x frequency= speed of light (a constant)
speed of light = 3.00 x 108 meters/ second.
frequency of the light wave in cycles per second
wavelength in meters/cycle.

i.e. wavelength & frequency are inversely proportional so as one increases, the other decreases.

energy = Planck's constant x frequency
(E = hn)
E is the energy of the photon in joules
h is Planck's constant 6.624 x 10-34 joule seconds
n is the frequency of the particular light wave in cycles per second

so energy = frequency x constant
i.e energy & frequency are directly proportional so as one increases, so does the other & vice versa.

Remember this sentence and it will help you recall which is which.
Richard Of York Gained Battle In Vain

Richard = Red - longest wavelength
Of = Orange
York = Yellow
Gained = Green
Battle = Blue
In= Indigo
Vain = Violet (purple) - shortest wavelength

Answer: yellow

An alternative sentence to remember:
"Richard Of York Gave Birth In Vain"......hehehehehehe

yellow its closer to red which is the longest and blue is the shortest so green is a combination of yellow and blue so its short er than yellow.
