You can buy replacement batteries on the internet, but fitting them is another matter - getting into an iPod is not easy.
http://www.ipodstop.co.uk/?OVRAW=replacement%20ipod%20battery&OVKEY=ipod%20battery%20replacement&OVMTC=standard

Or there's a site that will fit a new battery for you:
http://www.theipodclinic.co.uk/?OVRAW=replacement%20ipod%20battery&OVKEY=ipod%20mini%20battery%20replacement&OVMTC=advanced

Or go to your nearst Apple shop

Or try Apple's online store:

if it is under warranty then they will change the battery at apple for you. if not then if you didnt take the extended 3 year warranty then they will not.

however, i have seen many items on ebay, they sell you the new battery and the tools for changing it.

good luck.

ps. a battery has a memory and to make them last longer you should make sure that you fully charge them and then let them run right down. if you half charge it all the time then it will start to remember and keep on half charging every time.
