Hi there....

The only way a cell phone can be tapped is from your home switching system. The wireless carrier will receive a wiretap request from a law enforcement agency, which will then set the tap and send any calls to the agency to monitor.

Wireless networks, especially CDMA systems, are virtually impossible to tap an individual phone using a scanner. The person would have to find the one cell site where your phone is currently registered, and find the two frequencies out of a couple hundred that could be in use. Plus digital cellular systems are encrypted, so even if they did find the one site you were on and the two frequencies you were using at the time, all they would hear is garbled noise.

Hope this helps!

There's no way to tell really, since if they were to tap it, they'd have to do it at the switching station, but this would be nearly impossible since the switching station changes when you move around. Additionally, most cell phones today are digital, so if anyone were "listening in" with a scanner, all they would hear is noise.

The only way they could really tap your cell phone is to bug it directly or listen in on the conversation on the other end if that person happens to be on a land-line.

You can't! Unless you have a person in your life, like a cop, computer hacker, etc. Go to a website called I Spy and you can see all the surveillance items and surveillance detector items for sale. If you have that feeling (which is common these days), your phone is tapped. It's very easy and simple these days! Good Luck!
