You can express emotion through other means that the conventional way. Painting, music, dancing, none of these require you to actually share your feelings with other but helps convey your emotions to others.
And then there are those people who have eyes that are so deep and expressive that their eyes can speak stories for them. Expressions aren't limited to the muscles in your face.

You can be emotionally expressive to your friends and family, as it should be, and reserved with others, if you so choose. (I don't see how it can be done simultaneously.) You can be expressive with these "others", but do so with caution. Others may not appreciate it, and in the workplace, for example, it may not be appropriate or advised. (I'm not even talking about harassment issues, just the comfort of all concerned.)

im really quite reserved and people always tell me they can tell what im thinking by the expressions and emotions shown on my face. No matter what Im thinking, I cant hide it from showing on my face.

Absolutely you can......you can be reserved....listen to others and then express your ideas any way you feel.

yes just be true to yourself........express what you think....and I don't think they are mutually exclusive.....
