Good point to raise. If the majority on Answers is any indication, most Americans don't have a clue about the possible scenarios we are facing, including H5N11, economic collapse or severe slowdown, Martial Law, super-storms, more bugs, etc. You might want to throw a generator in that mix of yours.

We always have water. And food. Gas. Well we don't store that yet.

no gas but will a horse work? I can cook with wood. light with candles. but if there is an attack here I won't be found underground.
