Well, that is a pretty general question, but, here goes:

I am a man. This does not mean I have no feelings. I like to be wanted, loved. I like to feel a woman wants me sexually and I like to see her show it.

I like to cuddle.

I like to be touched all over, not just in the genitals.

I am turned on by what I can see.

I like to feel I am protecting my woman.

I sometimes tend to be quiet and thoughtful. It does not mean I don't love my partner. It means I need to think.

I have a sense of humor.

I like to be able to speak with a woman on all subject.

I like to work.

There's a long list of things here. In general you need to understand that most men are very needy. Even if they appear not to be. We are very sensitive and take alot of things to heart. If you say something hurtful in the heat of an argument, even if you don't truly mean it, it will stick with us for a long time. Alot of men have a certain complex, wether it be the bigger penis complex or just looks, everyone has one. Get to know us and believe us when we tell you things that are personal. Don't bring up stuff that happened yrs. ago when we're arguing about something that happened today. It drives us crazy. And please, try to occasionally make the first move. Just because some of us are shy doesn't make us bad people. Maybe we've just been hurt and are very cautious as to the moves we make.

It's amazing what you can see when you read between the lines. Most of what these guys have said will tell you: We're pretty simple animals. We want food when we're hungry, sex when we're horny, and attention when we're feeling outgoing. Other than that, we don't like complications, unless it's wrapped in a 30-year old car body and your girlfriends are cute once in a blue moon as long as they don't have too much personal information of ours.
We despise drama, most of us can't read your minds(so don't assume we know why you're bitchy or touchy or whining) and if you want us to lie to you ask us a question you already know the horrid answer to!
Treat us like lions or bears and you'll usually do well. That's about it

Perhaps the problem isn't in the lack of understanding of men, but the understanding in people in general. By dividing people into groups you will never understand someone in a differient group. Instead try to think of men and women as individual people with wants and needs. Segregation solves nothing.

we need sex. especially when we have seen or been tempted by a woman who we would sell our soul for. if your guy ever says I just need it, then give in sometimes. he wants you more than her.
