Has anybody had problems getting parcels delivered lately, I have ordered 5 Cds/Dvds for Christmas Presents over the internet but only 1 has arrived. They were from ordered from recognised companys and not from ebay. What is there to stop postman from stealing them as the parcels were sent through standard post that the seller's use.

There is nothing to stop light-fingered RM workers as far as I know, and the RM always say ' it must have been lost in the post' which is garbage and they know it.
I have twice lost gift vouchers sent to my 10 year old son in a birthday card.. Now I'm waiting for £40 M & S vouchers which are late. I have had bulky envelopes delivered with the corner ripped off. There's absolutely nothing you can do, the RM just turn a blind eye. Thieving b......ds. You cannot send anything of any value through the ordinary post now. Hope some RM workers are reading this.

The Royal Mail is not what it was. It used to have security vetted British postmen who worked all their lives for the GPO and whose pride would make them catch an "baddun" very quickly.

You've only got to have a few crooked postmen in the sorting office dealing with a mail order company to have a big problem.

You can get your CDs sent Recorded Delivery, for a fee. An additional snag is you have to sign for them, so if you work you'll probably end up haveing to go to the sorting office. Alternatively, you could ask the supplier to use, for a fee, a courier firm: many big mail order concerns use private delivery firms anyway.

I fear that if you need Christmas Presents you may have to order replacements to collect from a shop such as HMV or Virgin Records. A trip to town is likely to be cheaper than fancy and expensive delivery arrangements.

I think it depends where you live
My brother has a mail order & internet shop, he sends out about 100 parcels a week, and rarely if ever has a problem. When he does its usually a problem with addresses in London, and soem other major cnnurbations.

Some of the problems dissappeared when he started using a signed for delivery (proof of posting) and order tracking, but even with that some stuff deos go walk about.

If you have ordedred the items and they haven't arrived the the owner of the problem is the shop that supplied the goods... get on to them to sort it out. after all they have failed to fullfill their side of the contract.

I have been having major probs with that as i order a lot and everything seemed to come on a friday.. i went down to my local sorting office claiming to be calling on the off chance and he handed me 13 parcels and packets ... this was two weeks ago and when i spoke to my postman he said it was his boss as he did not want to send a van around daily so it was more cost effective to send the van out once a week try calling in at your collection depot you may be surprised

Some Postmen are Criminals what a shock! If you send recorded the parcels insured for up to ten times the stamp value.

I'm constantly having problems with RM, and most of the time it's for missing parcels. They always deny all knowledge tho and there's nothing you can do about it.
