Condensation is caused by the cold air outside and the warm air inside. You'll probably find air leaking around the edges of the window. If you want a quick fix get a roll of silver duct tape at a home center and clean the area around the window with a good cleaner/degreaser spray or 98% alcohol and then apply the tape
around the window edge and it will cut down on the leaks. Also check the seal around the glass it may need touching up. You can use silicone caulk to seal around the glass, just make sure you clean the area first.

Condensation will occur whenever the window surface is cool enough to allow moisture in the air to condense on it, which is why some condensation can be expected in the winter. (An example of condensation: A glass of ice water sweats because the warm air that surrounds the glass meets the cold surface and causes....you guessed it, Condensation)

The temperature is warmer inside than outside. Condensation forms because of these different temperatures. It is moisture.

Condensation. When the warm air on inside of home hits the cold glass it causes moisture. If you have a high humidity level in your home, that can happen.
I'm a CSR at a skylight company, and we that question alot.
There are things that you can do to bring down the humitiy level...
Crack windows.
Have a ceiling fan blowing in the room.
Stuff like that....if it is happening in the kitchen and bathroom, it is pretty high to control....high, high levels of humity there.

That'a right. Condensation. The house is too tightly sealed and moisture cannot escape, hence the build up of condensation.

normally condensation, this is when warm air hits a cold surface, normally single glazed window units suffer worse then double glazed, when the seal has gone on a double galzed unit, usually after ten year period, the unit life expectency has gone,it mist up inside the unit,a good tell tale sign the unit needs replacement.time to call in a good double glazing firm, they have to be fensa approved, new rules, all come under planning application, unless the firm are fensa, think that it !! :)
