It's a matter of preference of taste than anything else. Why can't people just understand that some people PREFER the taste of diet anything over regular?

I do it. I am normal, weight-wise, but a large non-diet Coke adds 310 calories. I can have the Big Mac large meal just fine (1100 calories), but I don't want the unnecessary calories, and I'm used to diet, so it doesn't taste bad to me. So, why not get the diet?

I know this sounds silly to some, but I've been obese before (several years ago), and I don't want to return to it. I've managed to keep it down ever since. And I still get to eat at McDonald's!

It's a taste preference. Regular Coke or Pepsi is way too sweet for me. In my house I was pretty much raised on Diet sodas, so those are the ones that taste better to me.

Believe me, I know it appears weird when you're ordering fast food that's totally fattening with a Diet drink...but for me personally I don't like the full sugar drinks. If someone is ordering a diet drink with a double quarter pounder with the hope that it will save them some calories and not because of a taste preference...then they are slightly delusional.

They try to cut calories when they can. Diet coke is not a sacrafice but giving up those Big Macs and Fries is a biggie

Some people prefer the taste of "Diet Coke," but I know many people who think that they are "dieting" or "saving calories" by doing this. A great many people who are termed "morbidly obese" drink excessive amounts of "diet" soda because of it's additive qualities.

It fits right in with people who go into a restaurant for breakfast, order a meal that is large enough for two or possibly three people and order a "diet" soda. If they enjoy the flavor, that is fine. If they are trying to convince themselves that they are consuming a "diet" product and it is healthier for them; it is but a dream.

That's simple! Everyone knows a diet coke cancels out all the calories!

HAHAHAHAHA...I work at a sub shop, and people will order a veggie with no cheese...BUT then they make it a foot long sub and add EXTRA mayonaise. They will buy chips, cookies, and then a DIET soda.. They always emphasize the word DIET too....

Maybe they just like the taste of the diet soda, and I am being too critical!

I buy it with Diet Coke because I can't eat sugar.

What makes you think that people just drink diet sodas because they're on a diet? I hate regular sugar-based sodas so I would always drink diet soda no matter how much I was planning on eating.

lol. I've seen people do this, and I have no idea why! They may just prefer the taste of Diet Coke, which isn't that great to me. Or they may be delusional and think they are really saving themselves from more calories. ;)

they think that's a diet, but they need to watch food as well. good for sugar levels controlled(i do this to prevent diabetes) but they want the tasty fries and meaty burgers because they don't want to do it the right way but THEIR way. it really isn't doing anything but increasing their weight by the week.
