How can i get a close friend to admit that he has feelings for me? He's a shy guy.....?

I want HIM to admit it to me, i was thinking of somehow making him jealous so that i can tell if he does or doesnt have feelings for me

If i ask him straight, i wont get a true answer because he is either shy, or extremely joky with me - cant tell the difference when it comes to him!

So what can i do?

It's a hard question. How is it that you know he has feelings for you but you can't tell the difference between his joking and his true feelings? From a romance standpoint it is dangerous to manipulate someone into saying something that they won't volunteer. That's what doing something to make him jealous would be. For one thing, people like to please another and give the answer that will please the other. So, if you manipulate, you may get the part that you want to hear and miss the part that you don't want to hear. Think about cooling it, being a great good friend and letting feelings come along as they will.

Well maybe you can coax him into telling you. You should tell him I think your the bomb. So what you do think of me. If he is shy you have opened the doors so to speak. Making it a safe ground. If you are trying to make him jealous with someone else that would not be a good thing. He might just walk away from it. Most shy people may want something but they give up way to easy.

Yeah sure. You know girls complain they find it hard to read guys when it is so easy. He's shy so heres how you know if he likes you. It's all in the eyes, even shy guys can hold strong eye contact so does he stare deep into your eyes when you two speak , then suddenly break away as if he is rethinking the whole looking deep into your eyes thing he just did?. Contact is another way you can tell, Too little or none at all, there is a difference though it's subtle. Firstly guy's want to touch the girls they like so even if it's a tiny bit like shoulder or arm. If you want him you have to tell him, shy guy's can be dominated and hope to be, so tell him to take you out , for example you could say "I know this little place down the road, would you like to come with me one afternoon?", show him you like him by touching him, that's what guys look for when deciding weather a girl likes him or not, so touch him gentle and softly. Stroke his face or touch his hand, or something.

Most of the time its really hard to ask a striaght forward question. The more you insist/persist the more he will avoid the issue. Guys have the tendencies to move away cause of its masculinity, you know tough image. Guess most of us would not admit that and we hate to be caught off gaurd in a scenario that we would be cornered esp. when a guy have a great deal of complexity. Suggest best way to deal with it is not to comfront but to understand and get to him closer. know him more.

The making jealous idea has a zero probabilty of working. If he's shy, he'll get less encouraged and might give up altogether.

For us shy types, it actually helps if the girl makes it easier for us. Could you maybe ask him out?

I think if you ask him direct or give him a letter asking,you should get a straight answer.
Dont tease him or make him jealous-you will confuse him and maybe drive him away.
He is shy and jokey with you because maybe he wonders if you truly like him.
One of you has to be up front-go for it and good luck.

What are you planning to do torture him or what? Don't force people (especially those you claim to be close to) out of their comfort zones, you will only drive them away. Instead of making him jealous, why don't you enable him by making him less unsure about your feelings for him? If he values your friendship he has to be quite certain that you won't freak out when he finally "confesses"

if i were you i would just let him take his time. i had a boyfriend once that never would say " i love you " back to me when i said it to him. i wanted him to say it sooooo bad, but i didn't force it out of him. had i done that i never would have believed him if he said it anyway. one night we were playin' around and he was tickling me. we were laughing and having so much fun i said " I LOVE YOU and to my SURPRISE...HE FINALLY SAID IT !!!!!!! we were married 2 years later. so, if he loves you , and more than likely he does, just give him some space. it will come. and as for trying to make him jealous........won't work....i tried that too....it just made him not trust me for awhile. so, if this fella means so much to you don't rush him. too much pressure and ya might just lose him. good luck sweetie. i hope you hear the words you so long to hear, soon. You can't force someone to tell you they love you. It has to come from him. Go out with him a few times and if it doesn't seem to loosen him up or lead anywhere, it shows you are barking up the wrong tree.

yare u so detremined ti find out if HE lykes u? u dont seem lyk a shy gurl and it sounds lyk u lyk him too so just let him know tht u lyk him..........he MIGHT then just say tht he lyks u too. U must understand tht not ALL boys let gurls know tht they lyk them by saying it, its the same thngs with gurl.
U might want to try and flirt with him to see how he reacts then decide from there...........
