Can any MOT tester quote page no and ref no,(Don't think there is one) From the testers manual, Which states that an Air bag warning lamp illuminated at time of test is a reason for rejection? Cheers

There is no page or ref no for this, as it is not a reason for failure,
Any of the MOT testers out there who say it is, should look at their guide more often!! ABS warning is the only lamp that must follow a certain procedure. While I am on the subject, What about high beam tell tale and handbrake tell tale? Any thoughts on these? Answers please? Where are you now Mick?
Cheers

There are no checks at all on airbags to date in the MOT rules. The only warning light ‘fault’ that would result in an MOT failure is that connected with an ABS system. (Mind you, a fractious tester might refuse to get in the car if he thought the bag was about to go off!)

SRS lamps are not testable, but it is mentioned in the manual that an advisory notice should be issued about it.
Main beam warning lamps should be present and work.
Not all vehicles have parking brake warning lamps so they aren't a testable item. They also tend to be incorporate with the low brake fluid level warning lamp, so it would be difficult to say the handbrake was the cause if the fluid level can't be seen.

My sons airbag light kept coming on because he had to move the chair back so far to fit his long legs in comfortably.

His ALWAYS passed the test.

Sorry I can`t be of more help to you. Oops not a MOT tester either!

Try this.......www.dft.gov.uk
