looking for inexpensive x-mas gift for my kids can not afford a360

Go with the Xbox, for one it won't break as easily as the PS2 and since its for your kids you'll probly want it to last till you can buy that 360. Also the games for the Xbox have great graphics and the games them self are sweet, and your kids will diffently enjoy them like i.e Lego StarWars a great game that you and your kids can enjoy but if you want to see a selction of the games you can always go to Xbox.com and look at the huge list of games it has. If I were you though you seemed to have left out the Gamecube for some reason, this is the system that was made for kids with titles like Mario Sunshine and Mario kart: double dash these are sure to keep your kids happy for some time not mentioning that most of the games on that system are made for kids. All in all go with the Gamecube but if you already have it and are looking for a good sturdy system with a wide selection of games go with the Xbox it never fails.

The XBOX has somewhat better graphics as it's a more powerful system, though the better- looking PS2 games are close. However, it'll be very difficult to find an XBOX new since Microsoft stopped selling them earlier this year. You'll probably be able to find one refurbished somewhere. The PS2 costs $130 new, and for what it's worth the Gamecube costs $100 new.

In terms of raw power, and graphics alone, the xbox is better. However, the library of games for the ps2 is just so much better, and the ps2's graphics aren't that far behind anyway. In my opinion, a ps2 would be a better buy.

In my personal opinion, Ps2 has way better graphics than XBOX,also the Ps2 has a way better selection of games than XBOX anyway so........the better buy would be the Ps2.

I say go for the Ps2 as it is more fun to play than Xbox and ps2 has large selection of games which kids and adults equally enjoy :)

Xbox has better graphics, but dont buy a console just for graphics. PS2 has more games, but in my opinion, the games on xbox are much better.

The xbox has better graphics, and is focused more in shooting games and online play, but ps2 has a big variety of all types of games.

it really depends on the game, but for kids i wouldn't base it on graphics. I would base it on game selection. The PS2 has a far superior collection of games to choose from.

I think the x-box is better, but there are more games available for the ps2, and better games, wal-mart is running the ps2 for only $129.00 now not bad.

PS2 is allot better, looks nicer and plays nicer.. But, if you want to upgrade, now there's a PS3, way much better...
