It's my second time vomiting from drinking, and I realize that I tend to end up throwing up water (or even worse, stomach fluid?). Afterwards, I feel a burning pain in my throat, and worst of all, my vocal chords get screwed up. Last time, they were so screwed up that I couldn't sing properly for over a month, almost 2. So just wondering what I need to do or what foods I should avoid to help my vocal chords recover? And is it possible that they are slightly permanently damaged (cuz eversince my last time vomiting, my voice gets kind of scratchy easily)?

I'd quit drinking if you know it's going to cause you to be sick. It really isn't good for your body. It can damage your throat (esophagus after a while), messes up the enamal on your teeth, it's just not good. Stop drinking!!

You have burned your vocal cords with stomach acid. The lining of the throat, vocal cords and trachea is mucous membrane, and burns quite easily. All you can do is wait. Food does not touch the vocal cords in normal swallowing, so avoiding certain foods won't help. Try to speak as little as possible (voice rest), no singing, humming, throat -clearing, vomiting, loud laughter or loud whispering. If you follow these guidelines, you should be OK in about a month. If it persists after that, see an ENT (ear, nose and throat doc).

Lemmon Zinger Tea from Celestial Seasons. Don't stop drinking it until you feel better...that is what I do.

If you are Bulimic...yes...but throwing up every so often because your sick or your body goes "NO MORE ALCHOHOL"...no.
