Why havent they made this yet? I know for a fact as far back as 1997 they were talking of doing it. Now i hear someone say the next one will have aliens being the enemies.

The DOOMSDAY story needs to be done. The cast was going to be humungous (espeically for the funeral) and they could do so much wiht it.

I know one time word was it was too big a project to downsize but maybe they could do sequel for it.

Superman Doomsday will be an animated movie coming out next year. The reason it has not been made into a live movie was because all of the previous attempts to revive the Superman Movie Franchise were stalled as people came on board and left at different times.
They will not likely be doing this as a live action film at any point in the foreseeable future as the new movie franchise is for the most part continuing established continuity...

As for the animated movie, word on that so far says that the crew behind the JLU cartoon would be doing this movie, as well as 2 other movies direct to DVD in 2007. Right now they did not say who would be on the voices, but one big name attached was Bruce Timm. Talks were that this would follow the original comic story line, at least that was the original notice.

Back before Smallville was greenlit as a series there was talk of doing the Death of Superman story as a trilogy, but that stalled out with all the directors and Clark Kents dropping out of each discussed attempt.

I know Kevin Smith, of Silent Bob fame, wrote a script back in 97 using Doomsday as weapon of Braniacs, pretty decent script but vastly differed from the comic version.

If the Animated Version of the story is in the pipe I hope they do a better job than 'Brainiac Attacks' that they put out last year. The need to get the entire Animated series cast, or the JLU voice cast for a proper Doomsday movie. The guy who did Lex's Voice in BA played him as borderline gay which might work for other villains but it is not a trait of Lex Luthor.

Doomsday is extra problematic than Superman. It took each and all the JLA, the Luthorman, and Cadmus secure practices to convey him down. I nonetheless don't understand why Captain ask your self and Lar Gand did no longer take place.

the doomsday plot should definitely be done. the marke is right for it now. viewers are drawn to huge disaster films nowadays and by the looks of the comic Doomsday was capable of creating cataclysmic disaster on earth , that even superman could fail to avert.

so yea, go ahead with the Doomsday Project.

I think this would be ideal for a third, as we've only just been reaquainted with the hero.

it would be too long to be one movie, they would have to split it up into two. but yeah, they definitely gotta make it
