Illegal immigrants?? That gets me. We were all 'illegal immigrants' at some time in history. Doesn't matter what country; the US, Austalia, Canada, none of us were the original inhabitants. Unless you were Native American, but then, recent paleantology research says the Native Americans came from Central Asia, but the American Indians were there a lot longer than the latest arrivals ie; British/French/Spanish/Irish/German etc pioneers. In Australia, we have the Aborigine peoples, who apparently came first from Africa, then into India, eventually arriving here, but, they were here a lot longer than the first fleeters. Canada probably similiar to the US natives. etc. Illegal Immigrants???? We're all illegal.
Abortion: no one's business but the woman involved. Sorry.
Gay marriage: none of my business. (why do we all care what other people do in their own bedrooms? And whether they are married or not?)
War in Iraq: God, what a mess! Guess it depends on who's the one carrying the biggest stick, and has the most and more powerful allies, as to who is right and wrong. ??

Immigration needs to be handled better by the government.

I have no problem with someone coming to this country to start a new life if they want to work, learn the language and be a good citizen. It is a problem that people come from bad backgrounds and have no respect for the laws in the country they are travelling to i.e. a criminal leaves a country and travels to the UK and seeks asylum and either gets granted asylum, or comes illegally. They are used to death penalties in their own country and see the UK's laws as a joke, and that prison is not a threat so continue their trade in this country.

Abortion. I don't think it should be disallowed, as there are some seriously shocking situations where it would be an absolute breach of human rights to deny (rape, child abuse etc). But people need to stop considering it as a get-out clause. Education on contraceptives should be considered integral to the education system and ANY teen pregnancy under the age of 16 should be investigated as if it were a crime to help enforce the idea as a 'taboo' for teenagers. Schools and parents should be held accountable for teen pregnancies.

(I personally think consent should be raised to 18- how can a girl legally get pregnant at 16 yet not be able to drink alchohol until 18- what carries more responsibility!?)

Gay marriage= Fine. People should be able to do what they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

War in Iraq= messed up. An absolute screw-up. No wonder the rest of the world despises the West.

Illegal immigrants can cause many problems within a country inlcuding illegal activities, peculiar social habits, etc, etc.

I don't care about laws regarding abortion. Life starts after the baby is born, not when the sperm fertilizes with the egg.

Don't care about gay marraige. But laws should be in place, such that it is ensured that there is social order.

Iraq war? Well, actually I was against it. As a Muslim, I feel that Bush's war on terror is indeed a war on Islam. Iraqis did not pose any threat to the West, not even Israel. They don't deserve what they are currently going through.

Fighting terror does not involve bombing countries back to the stone ages, but targeting people and terror organizations precisely, without making too much disturbance to the global environment. It is important that such activities are carried out with the collaboration of other regional countries.

You can call me a radical regarding Iraq, but let me just tell you that that's just how most of the Muslims around the world feel about Bush's war on terror.

Peace be upon all.

illegal immigrants: no. If they want to come into a country and work, they need to go through the proper channels and pay tax, just like everyone else.
Abortion: Yes. It's the choice of the woman, and no one else's. trying to get it blocked for religous reasons is like shoving your religion down our collective throats and expecting us to take it.
Gay Marriage: Yes. why can't they have the same rights as anyone else? and why is everyone so offended by the idea that somewhere out there there is a man kissing another man? the only reason there is so much scandal about it is because the government latches onto the differences in life and uses them to keep the people locked at each other's throats, so they don't notice the corruption and incompetence in their governing body.
War in Iraq: completely unjustifiable. they haven't found a SINGLE WMD anywhere. because there aren't any. never were. they were destroyed years ago. bush is just pissed that daddy lost the fight all those years ago, so now he's finishing it.

wow - some tough questions.
Against illegal immigration since it's illegal. I'm aussie so being an island i don't think we have the same probs as usa does with mexican border. However, since it's such a huge problem there should be pathway for those already in the us to become legal and maybe a guest worker program. I don't agree with minutemen and building large fences.

As a law i support right to abortion. As a personal choice i can't agree but there's a reason laws are written rather than just flicking through the bible.

gay marriage - not in a church but in the local town hall or whatever what do i care? I wouldn't consider myself married if i didn't do it in church but there's a heap of ppl who have civil ceremonies and it hasn't effected me in the slightest.

war in iraq - don't know that you can really be for or against this one. Australians are over there and i don't want them hurt but i'm not sure what they're fighting for or trying to achieve? Democracy can't be enforced from above, the ppl have to want it. Ask me one day and i'll say we should withdraw. ask me another and i'll say Bush and coalition of the willing wanted to wade in and what right do they have to leave until the job is done - but obviously it's not their kids so what do they care...............and do you get an idea of the merry-go-round in my head on this one. I have a friend who could feasibly get deployed there in the next year so really hope aussies stop sending troops to the area.

I'll stay with illegal immigrants. It is wrong for them to come in the country this way. Are you aware of the red tape involved to come in legally? My friend, in the Navy, married a Canadian school teacher. They live in the US. It's been 4 years and $4,500 dollars and she still isn't a citizen. She teaches school here now. Our immigration laws are not working. If we fix the rules and laws to make it a 2 year process to be here legally, illegal immigration will stop. Right now it takes about 7-10 years.

First off, it's 'illegal immigrants' for a reason. They are people trying to come to this country, and breaking laws doing it. For American citizens to go to another country it requires alot of paperwork, time, and patience. Just because we border other countries it doesn't give us or them the right to just skip over. Illegal immigrants also are not required to have rights, just because they are here. When citizens break the law they lose certain rights, so why reward other people who 'successfully' and openly break the rules by trying to 'start a new life'.

Against, because they are residing in my country unlawfully. Anti abortion, but Pro choice, no gay marriage, and no to the war in Iraq.

Against illegals, not legals. Something about the word ILLEGAL.

Abortion after the 2nd trimester is murder IMHO, but let woman do what they like. God will handle it.

Gay marriage, don't care.

Totally support the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
