I was really scared, I went to bed and stayed under the quilt.

I would have gone out to investigate but I don't have a dressing gown, and it was too cold to go out in my nightie.

Yes - all the time! If I wake up in the night and need a wee or a drink or something I can absolutely convince myself that there will be someone standing at the bottom of the stairs or at the window.
Sometimes my hubby will come into a room and I don't hear him and when I turn round jump out of my skin and scream the place down! He just laughs at me!
We also have a cat that has a habit of staring at the door or a spot in the room like she is watching someone/thing when there's nothing there - that scares the b'jesus out of me when I'm home on my own!

Yes. The brain is very good at pattern recognition when seeing partial or obscured shapes. What shapes it sees are very much influenced by what you are expecting to see. So... if you are at the zoo and see something slightly elephant shaped through the trees, your mind completes the image and you see an elephant. It might just be a grey billboard bith the corner knocked off but you see what you expect.

If you're already feeling a bit spooked or isolated, indistict shapes like clothes or bags are likely to resemble something spooky.

My advice: Hide under the duvet. The monsters can't get you there.

Yes all the time. Just the other day I was one the computer, and I thought I saw man dressed in black go into my extra room logically speaking it could have just been my lamp. Then last month I was taking a shower with the bathroom door open and I would've sworn I saw a little girl standing on my steps staring at me, but It might have just been my reflection in the glass.

Well it did when I was younger. I looked by th door and in the little opening where the light come through I thought I saw a snake.

When my room was messy you could see shadows of the objects and that used to scare me. So two weeks after I told my parents to stop putting their junk in my room and at least help me clean it out.

I have never seen a "ghost", thus I didn't know they looked like bin bags.
I trained as an Engineer, thus my mind works in a more logical way than yours does, apparently. Therefore unless it can be absolutely proved that "ghosts" exist, I am afraid I would never jump to such a daft conclusion on such flimsy evidence.

I trust that if you have no children, it would be of great benefit to the future gene pool if you remain childless...please

Poor you! When i went for a walk the other day, i saw this peculiar 'bird' in a field. It looked like a swan but i thought 'why is a swan in the field?' then it moved and i thought it was a paper sack blowing in the wind. It turned out to be a dog!!!!!!!!!
