There is an old proverb that says "The early Bird gets the worm" which means if you are diligent and get to "work" on something before others you will get the reward.

That being said, an Early Bird Sale is a play on this proverb which will mean the first "early" shoppers will get the "best" deals!

Have Fun!

Early Bird Sales

Ignore anything to do with the time the sale starts! They normally begin at the normal opening hour. (But there may be a time limit once it does.)

It is, as others have said, based on the old saying, "The early bird gets the worm". (Part of this is based on the tendency for worms to head underground once the sun rises, tho, which relates to those who do think the sale must start at some early time.)

It is a sale when the first in get the deals - latecomers either miss out or have to pay full price

It means that the sale is only available during a certain specified time, usually early in the morning and sometimes before normal operating hours.

the early bird gets the worm...
that much is very true...
but always remember...
the second mouse gets the cheese!!!
lol

early bird sale just means that you need to be there before they are sold out. first come, first serve. but, if you want to survive (like the black friday sales) you just wait, and pay full price and your assured you will live through it... thus, 2nd mouse gets the cheese...

Since early birds (also known as larks) like to go to bed early and get up early and night owls like to go to bed late and stay in bed longer, a combination of these two types is a hummingbird. They can happily flit back and forth. I am a night owl by nature.
