Think of it this way.
Salt, NaCl, a spice that MANY Americans love is made up of two POISONOUS substances that have to be put together in right way. Na is highly flamable in water and Cl is deadly. Yet put together and it wouldn't be french fries without salt! :D
A piece of coal - bought for pennies on a dollar - add a few million pounds of pressure and you have it's cousin the diamond which everyone knows is woman's best friend.
Both from the same element Carbon, C.
Liquid Nitrogen, N, stored in a simple thermos can be used to turn a banana into a hammer yet you can pour the contents into your hand and not hurt yourself (note, don't put your hand in the thermos).
Chemestry OFFERS soooo much!!!! I am not particularly good at Chemistry but I love the neat things you can do with it!!!!

Our human bodies are laboratories where many chemical reactions take place at all times. In any chemical reactions, very often electrons are involved. They are either transferred or shared.
Electrons make the world go round: even in Physics where the movement of electrons constitutes current electricity.
In Organic Chemistry, many man-made drugs can be synthesized for the cure of many common ailments. However, man sometimes abuses his knowledge by mis-using drugs like LSD and estasy pills.
At the lower levels, chemistry experiments normally involves precipitation of coloured compounds and also changing of colours of solutions. These observable changes often interest yound minds. Moreover, the evolution of gas, accompanied by sound (sometimes very loud ones) makes it the more interesting.

You discover (to a very large degree) how the world works, you gain an understanding of the structure of matter, how it behaves and even why it is the colour it is.
Many other branches of science are essentially chemistry specialisations such as biochemistry, materials science, chemical physics and geology.

I never quite got to grips with that one !!! LOL !!
and i did it at A level, my best subject.
i also took gce a year early - and - my brother taught me at home. very, very unusual.
I also did a science degree at uni.
i still can't answer !!
Except we had a really interesting teacher once. he was a bit of a nutter and used to throw lumps of phosphorus into the school lake - before he was stopped !!
The sheer thrill of watching that stuff explode I guess !!!
Another time, one of the teachers was doing an experiment using a cyanide compound i think. it went wrong ?!
they had to evacuate.
i think THAT experiment is now banned in schools too !!!!
nice question i still don't think i can give a proper answer tho !!!

because you can do plenty of experiments and it doesnt get boring. In chemistry it is easy to learn the formulae, etc.

well think about it. Your clothings (polyester, etc) are made through chemistry. Your plastics are made through chemistry. Your food ingredients...........chemistry. i could list many more stuff. That's y its interesting

Due to magical chemical reactions. For example chlorine is harmful to us.But NaCl (the compound of chlorine) is useful to us.
