Yes deism is logical.
It is POSSIBLE that God create the world and leave it.
If the gardener is PERFECT and foresaw everything that might happen and took care of it before he planted the seeds why should he keep looking after the garden?

Deism is logical. Which philosophical idea is not logical?
There is not much point in debating the remaining questions.
How could God be dead? :) That would be one twisted way of deism...
I don't think the world is growing out of control, but a garden left alone wouldn't either. A garden wouldn't look like you wanted it without attending, but it would not blow up...

In my view it's the same as asking these two questions:
Is reason logical?
Is logic reasonable?
Is divine presence logical or reasonable?
To answer these questions you have to go beyond logic and beyond reason.
You can not analyze an apple on a satisfactory scale being inside it.
The problem is, when you treat god as a subject or divine as predicate you make models. But how can you model the absolute.
In my view the question is incorrect. In order to answer you have to fully appreciate God and yet view him from 'the outside' which is impossible unless you model God rationally which is, of course, impossible.
This regards almost any philosophical system. They are not logical or illogical. They simply are.

If one believes in God, it would indeed look logical to assume that at the least He must be on a vacation........... or else how would He tolerate or allow the mess being created by his proud creation, namely, the human beings not only for themselves but also for the entire world and all beings? Any God worth His salt wouldn't let this happen as long as He is in control!!

Or, may be all this is no mess.... we the lesser beings do not understand it all!!!

Is deism logical? No more than any other form of theism. In short, know way. Logic compells me to seek empirical data to explain the existence of the universe. Given the state of modern science I think a better question would be, "is any form of theism rational?".
