how it works, if it's like playing on the system, or if online is different. I'm not talking about buying it online, but playing online.

Wow...people don't know what they are talking about....First off there is no charge for playing most games on the ps2...Final Fantasy 11 is the only one I can think of...its like 10 bucks a month or so but for the most part most games don't cost any thing...Socom nothing...EA Sports games just have you make an account that is good for all their games...but its free...so once you get the adapter going you shouldn't have to pay.
Just be warned there are tons of cheaters online and being new at this you will probably be infuriated by the amount of people who will cheat. Also Lag can be an issue. If you want to know more... email me at videogamer76@yahoo.com Hope this helps ya.

first off your stuck in the stone age, you've been able to play playstation 2 onlne for 2 years now. prices, about 60 bucks for the adapter if you have the old big PS2 if you got the new thin one it is the adapter built right in. you can get online games for 10 bucks at yard sales and in some stores, go to GameStop you can get used games in perfect condition for 20 bucks. But them you can also get new games that are online for 50 so it's mosty 10, 20, or 50 for a game. Then there's a monthly fee i'm not sure how it is but i think it's right around $20. the actual experience, it's much different than AI either more difficult or a lot easier. and on some games or quite a few games people will probably swear by typing and over the headset, oh yeahthe headset's like $20 too. but X-Box live is a lot more in depth to the player. but if you already own a PS2 then you might just want to go for the PS2 online experience.

Hope I Helped = )
