Snoring can be disruptive to anyone else trying to sleep in the same house, so it's harmful to everyone in the family. But the snorer can't help himself, and he is the one with the most serious health consequences. Not all snoring, but the really loud kind, is very often a symptom of a serious condition called sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea is not just disruptive - over time it can cause heart damage, even death. Heavy snorers need to see a sleep doctor as soon as possible.
Sleep apnea is usually treated with the use of a device called CPAP (not CPEP!), which totally eliminates snoring and helps the sleeper get more restful sleep. Most CPAP users stop feeling tired during the day, and their moods may improve - sleep apnea is a major stress.
CPAP is usually covered by insurance, but you MUST have a prescription, as the pressure has to be adjusted for your individual needs.
Please get an appointment with a sleep clinic right away - it could save your life.

well snoring is not only harmful to you but to others also who may not get sound sleep because of you. Snoring is related to your health problems as well. The posterio pharygeal wall.( i.e.your throat ) becomes weak and causes snoring. There are many treatments including CPEP and other less effective ones. So better get rid of it before it take care of you socially as well as health wise.
