we do the twelve days before and twelve days after. two reasons. number one: we have a living tree, the kind that grows in a pot, and in the climate we have here, it wont last very long inside, and number two, its a family members birthday thirteen days before, and the thirteen days after, and its bad luck to celebrate one thing whilst another is still taking place, so all our decorations go up late, and come down early.

I don't put up anything at the holidays. I don't have small kids and it is too much trouble really. I do like to go and see the other houses that are decorated. I am not a complete scrooge.

My decorations go up when the nagging starts to get to me....it normally begins halfway through November, and I normally cave in on the first weekend of December. So guess what I'm doing on Sunday!!
