Uptight and ignorant idiots these days, both black and white, cry "racism" so much that they have forgotten what racism means. The irony of it all is that the uptight PC people who cry racism are often the racist ones themselves and not the ones being accused. Racism is hatred of or the belief that a race is inferior to another. If someone critizizes the behavior a person who happens to be black, that is NOT racism. In fact, it's NONracist, because that black person is being given the same treatment and expectations as a white person. If the black person were to be given special treatment and not be criticized, that would be racist. I myself, a black woman, have been critized by people on this website for being racist just because I critizize some black people. That is so ludicrous and makes zero sense given that a) I am black myself and b)that would make me NOT racist because I actually care about my people voicing my concern and acknowledging that blacks are capable of doing better.

Blacks like me that actually care about my people and want to preserve the good things about our culture are the ones that are being accused of being racist. How stupid is that? Oh yeah, and not being a ghetto hip-hop stereotype does not make me an “Uncle Tom”. If you act like a ghetto stereotype then you’re the one who’s being the Uncle Tom because you’re being a minstrel catering to and entertaining white people’s expectations.

I agree with you. It's a little stupid to say " don't expose our dirty laundry in public" like they told Bill Cosby. That man paid his dues and he's probably the only one who actually CARES about black people, not loudmouths like Sharpton or Jesse. Once we learn to think for ourselves, that's when ignorance won't even hurt us.
But I hear ya.

Im a little annoyed at brothers playing the race crad all the time to. But at the same time, don't go to sleep on whats happening. Just like that brother who got shot in NY. It may not fall into the dictionary definition of racism. But the fact is, that brother is dead because he is black. The only proof you need is the fact that police never shoot an innocent white dude. I can accept the fact that mistakes happen. But why do they only happen to brothas.

If you don't think race is a factor you are fast asleep.

Maybe its not called "racism" but what would you call it?

Ms. Turnah, I love you and don't even know you. I feel JUST the same way. I, too, get criticized for bringing up things like the illegitimacy rate, our lack of emphasis on education and so on and so forth. I feel like not looking ourselves in the mirror is the thing that will eventually destory us. And kudos to Cosby and everyone like him! We've got to gain control of ourselves. But Sharpton and Jackson don't want that...they'd be out of jobs!

I would like to tell you something else interesting, though (at least to me). I used to have a best friend who was White whose father was an obese drunk with a bad temper. He continuously claimed that "Affirmative Action" was the reason he couldn't advance at work. I'm not thinking that was the reason . Unfortunately, everyone needs someone to blame because it is too hard to analyze their own actions. And that's why so many go to the racism card. I mean, skin color is an obvious thing, so it's easy to latch on to. And all races do it.

I can't wait til my next visit to the beauty shop, though. They just LOVE my opinions there !

I guess I'd say that people just love to be prejudice, concerning just about everything...different religions, different heights, different skin colors, weight, etc. It's just in people to point to others and not appreciate differences.
As for acknowledging that Blacks are capable of doing better, I admire you for doing so. Positive accomplishments can go a long way toward re-inforcing a positive attitude that everything is possible within a person who has the willingness to have higher goals for themselves. This is true for any race; so your being realistic about doing better is not racist.
Along those thoughts, I also admire Oprah for showing the great examples of great people, Black or White, who seem to be very special people. She has shown recently, the accomplishments of Will Smith and his son in their new movie, Persuit of Happiness", shown "Dream Girls" stars Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Fox, Eddie Murphy, etc...
My point is that showing examples of these Black people who have succeeded in many areas, should serve as a wonderful example for people to see that they are capable of doing better, if they strive for higher goals.
It is all within us to be the best we can,...
I am not being racist when I think that certain caucasian people should strive to be better than White trash...I honestly think they can be better...it's work, but we're individuals, and we need to have higher values.

Just saying "my people" makes you racist. If you weren't racist, you would embrace everyone as your people. The only person I've ever known that wasn't racist was my grandfather, God rest his soul. He didn't have a racist bone in his body, and he lived back in the days when racism was ramped.

One word: IDIOCY

Political correctness and self-victimization is the new shield of the stupid and ignorant who cannot come up with a logical defence of their position. It helps cover up for their obvious weaknessses in their argumentative ability.

Its so sad really... but it just illustrates the capability of mankind in general to be stupid and irrational.

Usually those who yell "racism" at the drop of a hat, no matter their race, are trying to make excuses for their own failures

People cry racism, in my opinion, to get attention...and to buy themselves some time. More time on TV, more time to make up a case so they can sue. More time so they can look like a victim.
