Why do most people in the world always want more than they have? (discluding worldwide poverts) And why when somebody has too much they keep it for themselves? (P.S. people that like to give to food pantries, charities, etc., I'm not talking about you)

I'd say it's because it's a place where is an endangered moral luxury. One should note that usually, the less people have, the more generous they are, and vise-versa.
This doesn't mean that there aren't those who are tremendously rich, and give to charities and aide in large portions though. I believe it is the goodwill of many people, rich and poor, that soothes God's wrath, and keeps our tired world going; don't you?

Greed is born out of a sense of insecurity that is caused by paucity or scarcity. Whatever material things including money that we have or can have, will always be in finite quantities and destructible over time. This creates an illusion of insufficiency and we desire for more and more.

If we can have something in infinite quantity for all time to come, we wouldn't be greedy for it ..... for example our power of thinking,,,, people can be greedy for more knowledge but not for the capability to think.

Because people have put on the side their values and the meaning of being a human. We used to have a major difference as human beings from animals. Now we tend to become like animals.

There have been way too many sweet shops around, to start with. And then there is always competition among the one who make sweets, confectionary, and all other types of delicious food. We will look into this later.

The need for food is the most basic instinctive need of human beings. It is our first preference in the hierarchy of needs. But to consume food is by no means as basic and simple act as the need it self is, we learn value food when we first suckle at the breast of our mother, the warmth, the sense of security and love all get associated with not only food we get but also with they way we consume it. We instinctively know that we need food but by experience we learn how important it is in the world that we have just come in to live. As we learn that food gives joy, protection and love along side nourishment, we realise that we can have these important things in exchange of food. We therefore earn an ability to fulfil this most fundamental our needs through money and other valuable possessions. What we learn from our initial experiences is important and acts as a template for the rest of our life.

The needs for things that come to associate us with food grow stronger as a person grows older. We want to be as secure as possible in this open world, we like to command of others, we want to ensure that we are loved and considered important. These needs become so important for us in our lives that at time we are willing to sacrifice our need for food and comfort for higher purposes perceived due to these needs. We give to charities, we spend generously upon the ones we love and care, and then at times we choose to live modestly for the sake of self-assurance through spiritual means.

Greed is a distortion, over projection or amplification of one or all of these higher level needs associated with food. It is never to do with merely the food, money or comforts. It is to do with our preferences built upon these basic necessities. The fact is that however rich and prosperous we become, we could eat just so much out of all we can buy or afford, and then we could live only in one house, sleep on one bed at a time however many house and beds we may have; we know all this very clearly. But we still like to have as much as we can, and as many things as we can. How much we should have is never an effective question for us to ask ourselves.

And soon enough is not enough, in fact reality is far from it, enough is never enough. We would always like to have more and more. We are never content with what we have. This becomes a habit, a life style, or a trend or a fashion that we follow, that we live by, that we simply cannot live without. There is also an inbuilt need for contentment that follows closely all the way along, making us think and sometimes act quite contrary to what do like very much to do.
