The NHS funding has massively increased, the education funding has massively increased, low interest rates have helped parents with bringing up their kids and steady inflation has also played its part.

Of course every child matters to him, as every child will hopefully be earning and paying tax to a labour govt in 15 years time.

There have been lots of policy initiatives affecting children and families, but the question is, have they had the desired impact?

Here are some:

SureStart
Introduction of Working Families' Tax Credit, which later became Child Tax Credit
Reform of the law on smacking
Reform of youth justice, including introduction of parenting orders
Reform of the Children Act, following the Victoria Climbie enquiry and the Every Child Matters green paper
Introduction of Educational Maintainence Allowance
Educational reforms

Is "every child matters" some party slogan in the UK? In the US, we have "no child left behind."

So, the social policies are similar to the US and they're hashed by government think tanks in order to keep the people happy, make it seem like there's social mobility.

Should every child matter to him? I mean, if some broke *** single woman decides to have a baby, why should some hard working factory worker in scotland have to pay for it?
