descartes and pascal?

many people see the philosophies of these two men are being opposites. why is this?

This isn't necessarily true to a reasonable extreme.
Though you can call Descartes and Bacon philosophical opposites.
I'm Cartesian by the way...

In terms of God both Descartes and Pascal had a similar view, they were both mathematically inclined and both Frenchmen, I mean come on!
