SanDisk Sansa e250 costs around $100-$110. It is 2GB which means it hold around 500 songs. It shows photos and has video playback. It has a nice vibrant screen, and it also has a voice recorder. There is an FM tuner from which you can listen to the radio or even record from. It has a MicroSD slot so you can expand the memory at a given time. It has a nice sleek design and has the same dimensions as the iPod Nano except for the thickness which it is more thicker.

Hi
You could go for the lower end iPod shuffle for 80$. Other options are creative players or Sandisk players. I use a Sandisk 2GB player which was way cheaper and better than an iPod Nano. Check out these brands on www.amazon.com

Go for an ordinary MP3 Player, they still hold the minimum of 100 songs for about $80 or cheaper. There is also an Ipod Shuffle which is still an ipod but holds 100 songs for about $100 [Australian]

Creative mp3 players are cheap and have good quality. But i prefer iPod since it is more popular and have good sound quality. Buy iPod Shuffle 2G. It costs only 79$ and it worths itself.

I got an MP3 for my 11 year old for $30 online. It doesn't play video or games or anything but seems to work well for music.
