What's worse is the people who choose to retire abroad but then complain that they don't get the same rights as Brits living in the UK. There was a woman on the news a few months ago who was complaining that her dad who's retired and living in Spain is ill and needs full-time care, but that the British government won't pay him benefits to pay for this care. As a result, she said she would probably have to bring him back to the UK, which he doesn't want. The cheek of the woman to think the British government should pay him a penny when he doesn't even live here any more! I think he was lucky to still receive his pension, never mind additional benefits.

Well I think I see where you are coming from with this.
I know a lot of "Brits" overseas & don't think you can generalise.
In Ireland for example, many moan about the Irish Government & issues like corruption, racism (anti English attitudes) & so on just as much as they would moan about Blair.
In Cyprus, the British community moan about Cypriot red tape as much as they'd moan about their English pensions. Maybe the English do moan a lot but maybe they are often jusified. I think they've had a bad deal in recent years especially post 1950.
What do you think?
You posted the question - do you reckon everything is great? Do you really never moan about anything?
Also the Brits encompasses Scots, Welsh, Irish, ethnic African, ethnic Chinese, ethnic Indian & so on - or do you mean the ethnic English - who is doing the complaining & why?

What I whinge about most on Holiday - is the Aggressive German's... and yes, they are still at the Towel thing on the sun-loungers.. they must have an SS Towel man who sneaks down to the Pool at dawn and plants the Towels - so us Brits have to lay on the Grassy bit or the slabs. Then once I have stopped moaning about them - I turn on the UK for its naff weather and Greedy Politicians,.. moan moan whinge,.....
