i am using the turkey baster method to get pregnant but dont know how far to insert the syringe. i know it sounds like a silly question but i really need your help. i was told by a friend to insert it into the cervix does this just mean into the back of the vagina. PLEASE HELP thank you

You can't insert it *into* the cervix, but up near the cervix is best.
Sounds like you'd be best off locating your cervix first so you know what you are doing. Squat or lie on your back, and insert your index finger into your vagina. You want to be feeling along the upper wall (i.e. the direction of your pubic hair, not your anus). The cervix is near the top of the vagina and feels like a very noticeable bulge - when you're ovulating, it may soft and squishy, other times of the menstrual cycle is can feel sort of like the tip of your nose.
Feel around the cervix, and you may be able to feel in middle a kind of indentation. This is the cervical os, the opening to the uterus. During ovulation, it may open up a bit to allow the passage of sperm cells, and tends to produce clear, runny mucous which helps the sperm cells along.
Ideally, you should aim to get the semen as close to the os as possible. Once it's inserted, lie on your back, and even stick a pillow under your hips, and stay there for at least half an hour. If you've got the timing of ovulation right - are you using predictor kits? - as long as you have no fertility problems you probably have about a 1 in 3 chance of conceiving.

Firstly ignore the rude comments posted previously. Some people dont understand what a tremendous strain TTC can be. You insert the syringe into the vagina as high up as possible, and remeber you do not need more than a teaspoon full. Are you referring to egg whites, if so, it needs to be at room temperature as to avoid infection. I found a very useful site:

You need to go out and but and OVULATION KIT
called FIRST RESPONSE. What this kits does it test your
urine the very first thing in the morning. When it turns
BLUE then you can can a BABY. Believe me it really
works as I used it as my time clock was ticking.
It doesn't give you gender it gives you a baby. So Good Luck!!!
