There really isn't any chemical you can put on to preserve the color and using a blue dye is risky because it's hard to control the end result. I recommend washing them inside out in cold water and then hanging them to dry. Or you can dry clean them.

Before you ever wear them you should soak them overnight in cold water, this helps to lock in the colour. Then all you need to do is wash them inside out. that should keep the colour looking fresh for much longer.

I do not think you will have much luck .If you look good in jeans no one is going to see if they have faded.
