Has anyone ever thought that Johnny Rivers was singing "Secret Asian Man" instead of Secret Agent Man?

Yes I did too! For years.
I was in my 20's before I finally figured out what he was singing and felt like a complete moron for thinking he was singing Asian, not agent.

Yes it did sound like that, so much so that comedy outfit Da Vinci's Notebook did a parody called 'Secret Asian Man', which is sometimes misattributed to Weird Al Yankovic on P2P networks.
DVN calls their protagonist, the secret agent man, a "Chinese Austin Powers", who is on a mission from Chairman Mao.

I didn't think that's what he was saying, but I did notice it sounded like that.

problem is it wouldnt fit the time frame...that era was russia..as the main concern.
