Depends on the specs you get on the machine:
I thinks it's core duo so it will have the latest power management features, useful especially if you intend to run it for extended periods on the battery. Check to see how much ram the machine has - if the operating system is windows xp don't settle for less than 512mb; if it's XP Pro or Media Center, ensure you have atleast 1024mb. If it has integrated graphics, you can still play some games on it but don't expect great performance. As for the hard drive, don't settle for less than 60gb, 40 at a push. If you have these minimum specs, it will be fine for college.

why dont you call John Lewis Softwear support on 087060000060. They are really good and they can fully tell you if that will be any good. They were Lots of Help to me. Cheers
