I didn't see the game but looking at the stats; Cincinnati special teams and offense played slightly better than Baltimore. Bengals D had excellent game too.
Bengals had 13-0 lead before giving up late touchdown in 4th quarter.
I don't think they will, but if they win 2 of their last 4 games; Oakland, Indiannapolis, Denver & Pittsburg, they might get in with a 10-6 record.
I still think Baltimore is the team to beat and there does appear to be a weak spot in their secondary and on the OL.

WHO DEY ! !

1. Since the Bengals are now 7-5, they need to win 3 of 4 (not 2 of 4) to get to 10-6, but that is certainly something they're capable of doing. Whether they can move toward the Super Bowl depends on their defense. While it has looked pretty good over the last two weeks, we have to remember that those two games were against the Browns and Ravens, not exactly known as potent offenses. This is the same team that gave up 42 points in the second half to the Chargers, and 510 passing yards to the Saints. While I don't think they're as bad as the Chargers and Saints made them look, I'm fairly sure they're not quite as good as the Browns and Ravens made them look.

2. If by saying "Baltimore is the team to beat" you mean for the division, of course I agree. But unless they come up with a more consistent offense, they won't likely go very far toward the Super Bowl.

3. You didn't ask, but right now my pick as the team to beat for the Super Bowl is San Diego. LaDanian Tomlinson is almost unstoppable right now, and Shawn Merriman will be back from his suspension to help the defense. If Phillip Rivers continues to play at his current level the Chargers will be hard to beat.

I doubt the Bengals are on their way to a championship this year. When I rank the teams as I seem them, they currently sit in and around 7th or 8th. When the competition ahead will include the Patriots, Colts, Bears and/or Seahawks...that is a step above anyone Cincy has left on their schedule. And, realistically, Denver has the wild card of starting a new quarterback this week who may spark them as well.

As for making the playoffs...

Back to the Denver comment first. Broncos have been on a slide as of late, but we won't really know how good they might be for at least one week if not two or three. The Bengals certainly will get a first hand look in a couple of weeks, and that game could be huge to the wild card picture...to have any shot, they must win this game in Denver, and that's never easy.

Next, the Chiefs have been playing better as of late as well. I would almost say they are playing above their heads, though. The Chiefs, of the teams the Bengals could catch, do seem to have the most difficult schedule as well. This might be the only team to catch in the AFC. We will learn a lot when the Ravens play the Chiefs in two weeks.

Last, though they beat the Ravens last night the odds are slim they will catch them for the division title this year. Seems to me that Baltimore only needs a single victory yet, and there are three very winnable games left on their sched.

So, to sum up, the Bengals playoff chances hinge on KC coming back to Earth and/or a rookie quarterback in Denver.

I think Cincy is now a better team than B'more. They've seemed to find their stride after 7-11 cried on National TV and they started throwing the ball his way 300 times a game. It's working. I think the Bungles will make the playoffs but that's as far as they'll go. They still have an awful defense and any football fan knows that in the playoffs it's all about the D. Their D looked solid tonight because lets face it, the Ravens aren't exactly the greatest show on turf.

Maybe but with 5 loses already they are on the border. 10-6 MIGHT get you in the playoffs in the AFC. 9-7 definitely won't. Cincy still has some tough games left (at Indy, at Denver, PItts)

Well they are still NOT a better team than the Ravens no matter what the Cincinnati crack heads are saying. But that was a hell of an effort, they really did "step up" when it was needed.

I'm sure they are back on track for the playoffs again. Div. champions and SB? That would require just way to much crack even to contemplate..........

Yea they are back on track. I think they get the wild card and shut every team down in the playoffs. They double team Chad and he still gets the ball. The only reason Mason got that touchdown was because he pushed off. (i was there). and it was garbage.

GO BENGALS

i think they are ready for the playoffs with that win. chad johson has been explosive the past few games. BUT...the defense has been extremely iffy over this year. most of the time, the offense has baled them out. As for the super bowl, there are not going to win it. their offense cant bale their defense out anymore. most of the teams their playing have great defenses

Well, ya did a good job of explaining the track that they want to be on....but they will get derailed in the playoffs at some point b/c they arent consistant.

Make the play-offs, yes. Super Bowl, I would have to say no. The Super Bowl winner comes from Foxborough, Ma. Da Pats.
