Why? The original plan was probably for The Big Show to retain his ECW World Title and continue his huge push through to Wrestlemania (where they had an idea of him against Hogan) but recently Show has been suffering a nagging back injury which'll explain his stiff in ring wrestling at the moment. I'm sure the Extreme Elimination Chamber wasn't planned to happen at December to Dismember, but in a quick way to make sure Show loses his title with a bang (so he's still a power figure and a top contender in ECW) they've decided to use this match as a sneaky way out. Now the WWE Management didn't think any of the figures in the ECW Roster (RVD, CM Punk, Sabu, Sandman etc) were ready for a title reign, so, although he was doing extremely well on Smackdown and was the top title contender at one point, they brought Lashley over to ECW to win the title come Sunday!

Why? They wanted Lashley to become some sort of World Champion, rather than keep him in the mid-card section with the US Title etc, and they felt the World Title and WWE Title were too big a title and he'd be given too big a push, especially if he'd be barring pushes for Cena, Umaga or Batista! So they sent him to ECW, the ECW World Title isn't really that special in the ECW brand, as its the only title there and with Big Show hogging it, it's become unmeaningful! So giving Lashley this title wouldn't be too big a push for him!

Also, if you noticed the competitors for the ECW Title in the Chamber aren't very big or strong, RVD can only throw his weight around, Sabu does the same but with chairs, CM Punk just kicks and jumps about, and Test is on Shows side anyway, so Lashley is the power figure who is the only one who can stand up to Big Show, and therefore he has a better chance to win the title, which is the view the WWE want fans to look at.

Another way of guessing is by whose in the match face/heel-wise, usually there'll be 3 faces (good guys) and 3 heels (bad guys), it would've been RVD, Sabu and CM Punk as the three faces and Show, Test and Hardcore Holly (or someone else) as the three heels, however, Lashley (the final man to enter the match) made it 4 faces and 2 heels, so the odds are he'll win, as he's obviously so important in this match that he managed to knock the 3 faces-3 heels original out of the way so he could be in this match!

After Lashley wins the title, perhaps a few weeks later WWE will find an angle to get Big Show 'injured' and take him off TV to rest his back for about a month, then he'll be back and fresh for the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania etc!

I would love to see CM Punk win, but I think that it may be too soon. Bobby Lashley would be the logical choice since he made the biggest splash by going to ECW. It will most likely be Test or RVD. With Test you still have the heel being champ, and the good guy (perhaps Punk) can feud with him and eventually get the belt at Wrestlemania. If RVD wins then you have a chance to see a very good feud between Punk and RVD
