straight or slightly diluted ammonia might work. be sure to wear gloves and have good ventilation. I use lemon scented ammonia for a lot of heavy jobs. best wishes.

The best thing that I have found for cleaning glass is vinegar. I usually mix 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water (can go half and half). The vinegar is not as harmful to your skin, lungs or the mucous membranes in your eyes and nose, as the cleaning chemicals you can buy in the stores (it is cheaper also). If it can clean the nicotine built up from over 30 years of smoking cigarettes from the walls of a house, then it should take care of the burnt on smoke. Good luck
