Hi

I used to be just like that, as a teenager I was able to eat anything and in any quantity, and spent most of my adult life up until 35 hovering around 9.0 stone (which was an issue as I considered it too low) mark and 5.11 in height.

This only started to change when I got my first desk job (damn the age of computers), and I noticed that I was beginning to gain a little weight, which was fine at first, until I noticed that it was going to all the wrong places ^-^ I always ate healthy foods, just a little too much for the level of exercise I got, so for the past 4 years I have been visiting the local gym 3-4 times a week, a few hours of swimming and some time on the weights, keeps everything toned and looking good, and now the weight is in all the right places :)

I would suggest that if you don't already do regular exercise to start including it as part of your regular routine (starting late is not a good idea... it hurts) If you can't afford gym membership try to include regular exercise as part of your day, walk to college/work take a few long walks with your friends during the weekends. sit ups and press ups will keep your body looking good.

Eat healthy foods, supplement with a good antioxidant (vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin A) and a DHA fish oil supplement (especially if you don't like fish, they are apparently good for your brain, as well as keeping your skin and joints healthy)

Just keep fit and monitor yourself and when you get to 39 you should still be looking like you're in your 20's

Oh... and cut the smoking out girl :)

It's possible that you have Hyperthyroidism

It's what I have.

Basically the thyroid gland produces too much of a certain hormone, which increases your metabolism to that of a Spanish Bull. You can put on muscle weight, but it's typically hard to get fat.

1 in 100 Men develop it, 1 in 1000 Women develop it.

I've been called a "*****" a fair few times because of this, but although it might sound nice, but it can lead to Graves Disease at some point and eventually death, so go to your GP and get it checked out.

Speaking from experience, it is true! It is a slow process. I used to eat what I wanted and never put on weight, until mid-twenties. Look after yourself now, you can still eat loads, as long as it is proper food, with a few treats, don't deny yourself that odd take-away, and do some sort of exercise, walking, dancing, or whatever you enjoy!

I am really struggling now to lose weight, as I didn't think it would happen to me.

i wouldnt listen to your mates. You will put weight on if you binge. Carry on as you are. keep an eye on your weight every month dont go and eat loads of crap otherwise you will gain weight. Some people from 19 stay at there weight till there 40s and then loose weight as they get older. It all depends what rubbish you eat. it doesnt matter about age thats rubbish. keep an eye on what you are eating and maybe do alittle exercise now and then.

I had a cousin like that, he could eat what he wanted and was stick thin. You must have one of those "fast metabolisms." You might not put on weight from eating, but you might also not be very healthy inside. Just remember not to pig out because you can. I don't think you'll pile on the pounds as long as you exercise too.

Inform friends, family and work fellow workers that you’re dieting. Support from your people around you keeps a person motivated, stops you from cheating and makes it less likely that you'll fall off the wagon.
