I'm currently at work, and there is NOTHING to do, and I am stuck here until 5pm. I cannot spend all day on the internet, we're only supposed to be on for 1 hour of personal use - although I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one. Any suggestions on ways I can keep myself amused?

Will they let you read? I had only one job where there wasn't much to do some of the time, the other receptionist and I made out a list of the States & tried to come up with the capitols. Once we got the list together we tried to memorize it. I remember that there were 8 "M" states. We weren't allowed to do much so we tried to find ways to use paper (no such thing as computers). Heck, I used a manual typewriter.
When the boss wasn't around, I put a book in the desk drawer & read when no one was in the reception room.
And once I knitted an afghan in the teletype room with the door shut. I was desperate to get it done by Xmas.
I know these things aren't fun but it was all we could think of at the time.

find a project and start it. check the filing and touch it up, ask boss for more work, return emails, calls, ask other co workers if they need help. tidy the office, order supplies, keep busy and become creative
