i'd make a sitcom but its set in america and base it around some of my as well as some of my ex-student's experiences at college. the students are in their 20s to late 30s and early 40s and are of a mixed bag. in sitcoms like friends, frasier, will and grace the main cast are predominately white and the same with fresh prince of bel air and the cosby show where the cast is predominately black. but with this show, there are male and female, white, black, asian, even gay students, younger as well as older. they'd also be a romantic sub-plot in there as well with relationships formed and a 'will they- won't they' theme thrown in, just to make things interesting. it will be different to those other student-based sitcoms saved by the bell and that 70s UK please sir! seeing as the students are of various ages.

as for the title, i am not so sure and as for who'd cast in the show, i'd mainly hire actors who appeared in other recognisable and famous US sitcoms, as well as a few unknown faces but who are talented at acting.

I would like to do a miniseries based on the book "A Time for Trumpets" (with bits from other books on the subject), which is an account of the Battle of the Bulge. Aside from the history, it is a celebration of how Americans do hang together in dire situations, unlike the nonsense foisted on us by the gang in D.C. today. I would use contemporary background music in the manner of "American Graffiti." This would include big band pieces, Christmas carols (the battle began on Dec. 16), the music of Aaron Copeland ("Fanfare for the Common Man" would be the title music) and even the Princeton fight song (it fits a particular incident) among the selections.

One scene I have in mind I titled "Carol of the Guns," which uses "Carol of the Bells" as background music, but has frequent cuts of different kinds of weapons in action, from rifles and machine guns to tanks and heavy artillery. Another has members of the 101st Airborne Division in Bastogne singing "O Little Town of Bethlehem" at an impromptu service.

From there...perhaps more miniseries. Cornelius Ryan's "The Last Battle" cries out for this kind of treatment.
