It's weird but also makes sense. They made something that was really popular and now, there cannot possibly be anything new from them. The memorablia of them gets more difficult to find because people collect them or they are destroyed somehow or there wasn't many to begin with. Those who wish to have a piece of that memory are willing to pay for it. Those who are still living can still make more of whatever they make. Maybe one of those will be considered as their best or rare and when they die, their stuff will become valuable too. Weird? its just the way people are.

Reminds me of a joke i read yesterday .. a guy and his wife go to visit the holy land.. and his wife passes away on the trip.. and a funeral home director told him he could ship her home for $5000 or have her buried here in the holy land for $150 .. he scratched his head for a minute and said .. Ill ship her home.. and the director said WHAT?? your gonna pay $5000 to ship her home when she could be buried here for only $150 whats the deal.. the guy looked at the funeral home director and said .. there once was a man buried here and he rose from the dead.. I just cant take that chance..

Very weird and a little sad but I suppose with music and art it is because they will never be able to create any more originals or perhaps because they won't be able to ruin themselves in that public eye so all that is remembered is the good.
