With due respect, I feel it is a very mean question he is yet to come in to the world and you are thinking about the religion the child should follow. Come on act a little matured. Instead try to make him a better human being. Every religion says and does that. Humanity is the best religion to follow....

I am Hindu, and my partner is Christian. We have discussed how we would bring up a child, and in which faith. We decided that we would let the child decide when it was old enough, but still give the full rites for both the Hindu and Christian faith.

Personally, I would not at all be offended if my child chose Christianity. There are many roads to God, and I only hope that my child finds the one that suits him best!

When the child is old enough to attend religious services how about having the child attend christian services one month and Hindu services the next until the child becomes old enough to make an informed decision.

Just educate the child in both, and let him practice both!

Just because one practices hinduism, it doesn't mean that they can't practice christianity in tandem. I was brought up being educayed in both. Although now I am slightly on the hindu side, cos I developed such a strong bond with hanuman.

Religion of Humanity, Love, Peace, Harmony, Truth.

Try to ingress all the good things from both the religions, and explain to your child that every religion is the different path to the same destination.

firstly I'm a Christian and as such i believe it would please God if he/she became a Christian.

However, being a Christian is having a relationship with Jesus Christ and this can only be a choice of the child therefore they have to choose themselves. YOU cannot choose a religion for your child they have to choose it. This is why there are so many atheists in the UK, they have made their own choices.

Your child automatically gets to adopt christianity according to the laws of scoiety. On the passport of the child and other documents where religion needs to be written you have to mention something so you cannot leave it to your child to pick up his faith. Legally he is a christian.

Tricky one........
How about letting the child make up his/her own mind which to follow when they are a little older (if this wont cause too much tension between the families of course)
Good Luck with the baby ! :)
