Of course lawyers represent individuals in every kind of case. However, to have a lawyer is not mendatory for filing a case unless one wishes to file it in the Supreme Court where only a lawyer on record can file a case. In all other courts, the individual directly or through a lawyer can seek redressal in all types of matters.

when a case is in court it has to be represented by the lawer.. u can only speak when asked to by the judge or if u feel it is very necessary that u have a point to make then u can request to be given a chance to speak about the case..
i am speaking with experience... even though the lawer represented my case.. i requested the judge to allow me to present my case and let me speak and tell him the facts as i am the one who has been battered.
