The mnemonic for remembering which cranial nerve has which function (sensory, motor, or both) is:
Some Say Money Matters, But My Brother Says Big Boobs Matter More.
So the pure sensory nerves are I (Olfactory), II (Ocular), VIII (Vestibulocochlear).
The mixed function nerves are V (Trigeminal), VI (Facial), IX (Glossopharyngeal), X (Vagus).
That leaves III (Oculomotor), IV (Trochlear), VI (Abducens), XI (Accessory Spinal), and XII (Hypoglossal) as pure motor.
