Your body needs a certain amount of carbohydrates to function and grow. If you don't feel like eating rice, then make sure you have some pasta, noodles, bread or root vegetables such as potatoes most days.
I'm lucky; I think rice is great and there are so many varieties!

Nope, I wouldn't say it's wrong not to eat rice, especially if you just don't like it... and if you eat some other stuff like a bit of noodle, some potatos or some bread here and there.
Normal rice, normal noodle and white bread are not that healthy especially consumed too often / in big quantities,
Even though I love basmati I go for wholemeal rice / noodle / bread, but if you don't want / like rice no problem! Important is to have at least some kind of carbohydrates in your plate.

I have eaten one spoonful of rice in my entire 23 years on this planet and I'm still here. So I think it's a safe bet not eating rice is ok.

Absolutely Not!, Rice is rich in Carbohydrates which you can take from several other sources like wheat, sugar and several others. Infect too much carbohydrates make us fat. I found this page for you, please read:

no...rice is not good for you if you're diabetic....it is one of the quickest foods that breaks down to glucose. i love it, but it wreaks havoc with my blood sugar levels. ;o[
