In Greece they shoot several TV series in the streets so it's quite common to run into one while going somewhere!!!
I've seen a lot in my life and it's very interesting because you realize how exhausting that job is and sometimes how bad tempered your favorite actors can become!!!

Yup, I was an extra in the riot scene in the movie "Stander" with Thomas Jane. I was dressed up as a riot policeman and had to do the same thing over and over again. It was me and a couple of friends so between each shot we would chat or chat to the crew. We talked to one person who helped with the fx on Black Hawk Down and he said Ridley Scott was an amazing director. We also talked to some of the actors, the local South Africans were nice and talkative but Thomas Jane just sat on his chair while some poor person had to hold an umbrela over his head to shield him from the sun. Never got paid though and I still have the socks from that day.

I did the weather report one day for our local tv station. I was more nervous than I ever have been although all I had to do was read from a piece of paper and say "back to you, ... " whoever the next persons turn to speak was .. they paid me something like 250 dollars for a few minutes work and I had to wear make up because of the bright lights and they styled my hair a bit, so it was really fun. My sister taped what she caught of it and I don't know if everyone thinks they look different on tv, but I sure thought I looked weird. Perhaps because I was so nervous.

No, but my second brother had been on some TV series as extras. According to him, its not all fun only, hard work is expected.
