I'd personally stick with HTML-Kit. The current version may be a little old but it's a good solid application and I've not come across any better free HTML editors. Also there is a new version available for registered users. This will hopefully be reaching the rest of us soon.

It's not free, but I love Macromedia HomeSite. I've used it religiously for over six years.
