While there are three tunnels associated with the Sphinx, there are no caves, nor are there any so called secret rooms.Of the three passageways ,two are underneath the Sphinx and are of unknown use or origin, but do date from early Pharonic times. The one that there is evidence regarding is a short dead-end one directly behind the head that was drilled during the nineteenth century. The several holes seen in the body of the Sphinx properly belong to original scaffolding from the time the body was carved. Another short hole was originally in the head of the Sphinx. From depictions made of the Sphinx in late dynastic times sho a crown or plumes of feathers protruding from its head .This hole has been filled in for some time. It is not thought that this was part of the Sphinx original design.Although the Sphinx did have a "plaited" beard. This was added, evidence suggests in the eighteenth Dynasty, properly by Thutmose 2,pieces of the beard have been recovered and are in the Cairo Museum. No artifacts were found in the passageways under or in the Sphinx. It remains the largest monument carved in the round, out of a single rock. The rock the Sphinx is carved from is limestone bedrock known to geologists as The Muqqatam Foundation.

I think the man who predicted finding the rooms beneath was Charles Cayce. I think that was his name. He was called the sleeping prophet. He predicted many things and most were extremely accurate. He said that the rooms contained the records and history of mankind from Atlantis.
